SALES DIRECTOR – D MAGAZINE PARTNERS

The Sales Director reports to the Group Publisher. Responsible for:

  • Migrating data, managing and training reps on new CRM (Launchpad).
  • Managing costs/budget on the sales side, including event, sales promotion materials, sales team members’ T&E expenses, etc.
  • Overseeing pricing on contracts, and in custom projects, creating pricing in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Managing and upgrading the quality of the weekly sales meeting.
  • Helping reps with simple problem solving, make-goods, communication issues, etc.
  • Interfacing with other departments. For instance, if a rep wants to create a program with web assets and an event, he will be the coordinator of the program with appropriate employees in each department.
  • Project managing all custom programs (multi-platform). He will operate in a coordination role.
  • Managing marketing and sales admin.
  • Creating weekly Friday reports for upper management.
  • Assigning new accounts to reps in a fair and transparent manner.

This person would benefit from experience managing/coordinating multiple persons on multiple projects. Temperament required: calm, neutral, positive. Needs to be able to say no, and while working to create revenue, respect standards and ROI requirements. Should be able to navigate a sometimes emotional, challenging sales environment. This position will be managing projects/trafficking, with cost/budget responsibility, sales team management. He/she will not necessarily work with clients, but serve as an internal manager of the department.

ACCOUNT SERVICE MANAGER – D CUSTOM

D Custom is hiring an Account Service Manager to manage and grow existing customer accounts. The ASM serves as the primary business contact for the client and is responsible for excellent customer service and overall client satisfaction. The ASM acts on behalf of our clients, representing their needs and goals to the internal creative team to ensure quality. In addition, the ASM will build relationships with clients to encourage new and repeat business opportunities.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for implementing client strategy and effectively working with the internal team to meet client objectives and timelines.
  • Communicates the client’s goals and represents the client’s interests to the team.
  • Provides regular two-way communication between the client and team, to provide strong team representation and set proper client expectations.
  • Manages all client communications, conflict resolution, and adherence to client deliverables according to scope of work.
  • Reviews all major deliverables to ensure quality standards and client expectations are met.
  • This position will also be responsible for maintaining client workflow and adhering to process while ensuring brand standards are met and projects are profitable.
  • Works closely with the project team to maintain a continuous knowledge of project status in order to identify potential issues and/or opportunities within or related to the project.
  • Ensures that client issues are dealt with in an efficient manner, informing the director of client solutions of any problems that may arise.
  • Assists the director with the contract and contract renewals.
  • Approves change orders and invoices.
  • Is aware of and in pursuit of opportunities for account growth and new business, involving the director.
  • Understands company capabilities and services, and effectively communicates all offerings to the client.
  • Reports to the director, providing regular input on all account activity, including status and reports on a weekly basis.
Requirements:
  • Tactical project management expertise and a high capacity for multi-tasking
  • Minimum 3-7 years of account/project management experience (agency experience preferred) of external client relationships
  • Ability to develop a strong rapport with designated client contact as well as grow and develop other relationships within the account
  • Digital marketing experience (Content marketing experience preferred)
  • Extremely detail oriented, self-starter, goal oriented, persistent and a problem solver
  • High level of initiative and works well in a team environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Interactive Designer

We’re looking for a talented interactive designer to join our team at D Magazine, a city magazine publisher with a focus on Dallas living. Our motto is Making Dallas Even Better and believe we can achieve that in our printed publications as well as online with visual storytelling and interactive services that benefit the reader. The interactive designer is responsible for creating, maintaining and improving all of D Magazine online offerings whether they be internal, reader-focused, or advertiser-focused.

Key Responsibilities

The interactive designer, under the leadership of the digital director, will work with different departments within D Magazine ranging from editorial, audience development, sales, marketing, and brand. Projects can range from full build of micro sites to style adjustments based on user-behavior. Designer will prepare mockups, wireframes, designs, digital ads, and other UX/UI related items to develop and manage creative ideas from concept to completion. The interactive designer must be able to communicate design ideas in web-friendly terms, as well as collaborate, with the front-end developer.

  • better integration of event listings within editorial content
  • new and improved corporate site that is easily maintained by sales staff

Must Haves
  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic arts or related field.
  • Background and understanding of fundamental design principles in both print and digital, with a particular emphasis on digital across a variety of platforms (desktop, tablet, phone) and channels (website, email, social)
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe software (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
  • Basic knowledge of modern Web Standards (HTML5, CSS3).
  • An interest in or experience with responsive design
  • Familiarity with both the front and back end of WordPress
  • Write clean, well-documented code

Operations and Finance Administrator – D Custom

The Operations and Finance Manager reports to the General Manager and works with the entire agency team in directing and coordinating agency operations relating to all client projects from inception through final billing. This position requires on-going and in-depth interactions with all agency departments in order to monitor sound, proper and timely execution of all assigned work. The Operations and Finance Manager will work with the Account Management team to understand the scope of project work, schedules, and expense budgets to prepare a framework for planning workflow for each project. This role will also oversee a large portion of the agency billing procedures, and will work closely with the Company’s accounting department.

  • Review timelines and project requirements with the Account Service teams, and work to get client approval
  • Assist in management of vendor invoice process and aging
  • Assist Account Service team with the creation of P&L statements at the outset of a project
  • Administrative tasks and double checks of accounting details for financial month close
  • Review of agency personnel timesheets for all employees to ensure completion and accuracy every week
  • Preparation of internal financial, operating and analytical reports
