FrontRow Web Editorial Intern
Do you live for the visual arts? Movies? Music? FrontRow is looking for an inquisitive, creative, reliable, organized intern who can hit the ground running. A good writer is a must. Primary duties include organizing ticket giveaways, conducting interviews, blogging, transcribing interviews, and fact-checking articles through phone calls. Generally, you’ll help generate content for and support D Magazine’s online arts and entertainment section.
Web Editorial Intern
We know it says “web,” but here are the three most important things we need to know about you. One, you can write, really well. We mean it. Writing experience is a must. Two, you love all things entertainment, especially music, movies, art, and theater. Three, you’re familiar with the thing called the internet. That’s it. But maybe you’re also funny, hard working, organized, and an all-around go-getter. You’ll learn the ins-and-outs of web publishing while gaining tons of writing experience. Primary tasks include assisting the events editor with writing short, sweet (and original) calendar listings as well as covering events for blogs such as D Magazine’s FrontRow and SideDish. Familiarity with Dallas is a huge plus.
D CEO Editorial Intern
Are you looking for real-world journalism experience? The business division of D Magazine Partners is looking for talented, organized, and committed interns to work on D CEO Magazine, D Real Estate Daily (our commercial real estate news site), and D Healthcare Daily (healthcare news). You’ll have the opportunity to build your portfolio by writing online news reports and magazine stories. You’ll also be able to fact-check and proofread magazine stories, perform editorial research, attend slotting meetings, and work on other editorial tasks. No coffee runs in this internship—unless they’re for yourself.
D Custom Editorial Intern
We don’t just focus on one medium. Magazines. Social media. Content strategy. Video. Websites. Next-generation audience development. We do it all, and we’re looking for storytellers who love variety and know how to speak to different industries. Our interns are mentored by the best, and we’re looking for editorial aficionados who can produce and edit content for the team’s local, national, and global clients. Daily tasks include writing, research, creative pitches, fact checking, image selection, and social media management. Interns play a big part in the D Custom team and are treated as such. Your portfolio will never be the same. Please go to dcustom.com to see our portfolio.
D Magazine Editorial Intern
Want to know how a magazine really comes together? Join our team. You’ll discover the glamorous (and sometimes non-glamorous) side of publishing. Our editorial departments are looking for organized, eager, reliable interns. Primary responsibilities include fact-checking articles through phone calls, email, and internet; researching; running errands as needed (e.g. collecting or returning items used in photo shoots, picking up documents, checking out an off-site location); covering local events, and submitting reports for posting on our blogs; writing brief blurbs and listings; working on projects for other departments and publications as availability permits. If you’re dedicated, meticulous, and fun with great ideas, you’ll make a nice addition to our team.
D Magazine Food & Dining Editorial Intern
If you like food and, most importantly, writing about it – this is probably your dream internship. We’re looking for a top-notch writer for SideDish, D Magazine’s popular food news blog. You must be organized, self-motivated, and interested (or have experience) with food blogging. Photography skills are preferred, but not an absolute must. You’ll be spending most of your time entering dining events into our directory system, covering some of those events, writing at least two blog posts per week, interviewing chefs/restaurant industry people/etc., and helping us out with small projects as needed. It’s a lot of work, but by the time your internship is over, you’ll know Dallas’ food scene better than you thought possible.
D Weddings/D Home Editorial Intern
We need an energetic, smart, organized, reliable, and creative intern with an interest (or experience) in design, fashion, and weddings. If you have an interest in blogging, even better. The intern’s primary responsibilities include: writing, pitching ideas, and taking photos for our three blogs; fact-checking copy for our magazines; uploading events and trunk shows to the events section of the website; picking up and dropping off items for photo shoots; assisting editors with photo shoots; and writing small blurbs and entries for our magazines. The intern must be comfortable with making fact-checking phone calls.
Editorial Research Intern
The research department is looking for an organized self-starter to assist in the planning and execution of Best of Big D, Best Doctors, Best Dentists, Best Designers, and many more. You will be exposed to numerous departments at D Magazine including editorial, marketing, sales, and design. Primary responsibilities include fact checking information by phone, email or Internet, researching and analyzing data, and working within data collection platforms. Experience with Excel, Survey Monkey, and Wufoo is preferred. If you have great time management skills, enjoy working on many different projects, and have fun fresh ideas, then you will make a great addition to our research team.
Lifestyle Editorial Intern
This is not a styling internship. If you’re hoping to spend your time dressing models and selecting high fashion for the glossy pages of D Magazine, this probably isn’t the internship for you. But here’s what we are looking for: an organized, energetic intern with writing skills and a knack for multitasking. Photography skills are a bonus. Be prepared to spend your time working on the web side of things, adding fashion and beauty-related events to our online calendar and new places to our shopping and nightlife directories, contributing to our ShopTalk shopping and beauty blog, fact-checking our shopping directory, calling stores to get information, keeping tabs on exciting sales, and researching fashion trends. We’ll also trust our intrepid intern to produce regular ShopTalk posts, assist on photo shoots, visit local boutiques to round up interesting ideas for online shopping features, pitch new story ideas, and assist with big projects, like the 10 Most Beautiful Women in Dallas. Again, writing skills are a must.

Portfolio samples are required.
D Magazine Food Photography Intern
As the online food photographer for SideDish, D’s food blog, you’ll get to visit some of the newest restaurants around town. Of course, you need to be able to take photos in dim settings, because you will be going to at least one evening dinner per week. The ideal candidate for this position is flexible, organized, responds quickly to emails and text messages, and able to travel to multiple locations in DFW throughout the week. You don’t have to have previous food photography experience, but you do have to be open on weekday evenings and weekends. Turning in your work on tight deadlines is a must. Generally, you’ll be helping us fill our restaurant directory, photograph new restaurants, and capture the atmosphere at food events. The more available you are, the more your credited photographs will show up on SideDish.
D Magazine Interactive Design Intern
The interactive design team is looking for a designer to assist with the creation of pixel-perfect online content. Must possess high attention to detail, working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, and strong typography and layout skills.
